The base is measurement is 8 1/2"

Its literally a Gothic arch :)

Frame is made out of a man made compound... and has a distressed, antiqued appearance. There is a wire on the back attached with eye screws.

O R. M. Kulicke designed this frame... he was a goldsmith and a painter. Here is an article about him !
