The listing, Japanese style envelope has ended.

The envelope (provided) is actually wrapped inside an outer covering made of folded paper secured with a decoration made out of paper cord--mizuhiki. I've collected a couple of these just for the unique decoration. A unique way of giving a card, letter or monetary gift! The crane is considered a mystical or holy creature in Japan.

Yes, they are! I've used them for grad gifts and a wedding. Here, we often give money and these grabs the recipient's attention, but they also are pretty just for display. Glad you like them!
