The listing, 1946 P&D Shell Case Lincoln Wheat Cents has ended.
Because copper was needed for military and industrial uses during WWII the US experimented with zinc coated steel in 1943. When these coins were not up to standard and because of complaints the mint switched to minting cents from spent shell cases for coins minted in 1944, 1945 and 1946. They switched back to the normal composition in 1947. The high bidder will receive the exact two coins in the pictures.
