I am offering today, a very unique & quite charming Compact. As the photos indicate, it has been well used & Loved a time or two before,
That's where the Charming part kicks in!
It has a couple of issues, but to me, they add to the Character & intrigue of this piece.

As I'm listing this, my mind wanders to visions of all the Ladies that carried it to Dinner Clubs, Tea Parties, Theatres & other spots where a Classy Ladies would have it tucked into her beaded or silk purse so she could touch up her face during her date ~~ Ahhhh~~
N now You can be that Classy Lady!!

It is made of Brass & measures 2.5" x 1.75"

The front cover is covered in Red cloth, that has some fraying in the bottom, left, quadrant.
The cover also gas an adorable little Seahorse figure smack, dab, in the center. Very Cute, indeed!

The back side shows some wear & patina.
& we ALL, LOVE Patina!!!!!

The case has a Push latch closure that works as intended.
The mirror is intact.
There are 2 sections inside, & one held Powder & the other Rouge.
It appears that for some reason, & I can only guess at thie reason, the small cover to the Rouge pot is missing.

The Powder receptacle is all there & even has the petite applicatot Puff inside ;0) I will comment that the latch to this section does take some expertise to open. Once opened, the interior of this section is Excellent & has the same lovely engraved detailing as the cover.

The Hallmark "U Make Up" is engraved on this Powder also & is the only signature on this piece.

I will Guestimate this Compact to be at least 70 yrs old or older, perhaps. Thus the reason for it being listed in Antiques.
