Ooooh that sounds beautiful. I wear mine with a black sleeveless maxi with silver accent jewelry but when I read what your idea was and I though that would be stunning and have my perfect style. Classic Elegance is how I describe it or Simple yet elegant. My theory is a dress should never outside the woman wearing it. Your idea sounds perfect and a look anyone can pull off beautifully.
Plus say you decide you want to take it off. Then you still have a beautiful pop of color. Really it sounds so classically beautiful to me that I say go for it. ( and I don't mean that with a bid on my stuff type of meaning. I genuinely think it sounds gorgeous.)
