I'm reasonably sure that you don't need to link your 2DS to the redeeming club Nintendo account. What if you can't connect your 2DS to wifi? But I'll try to verify this.

Sure, I don't see why not. I still have both consoles. According to another user, you should just need the code and the serial number.
