Dwyer was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers out of Georgia Tech in the 2010 NFL Draft, and played 4 seasons with the Steelers.
Primarily drafted to back up Rashard Mendenhall, he was not played until late 2010 before appearing in 15 games in 2011. In 2012, he finally got his chance to start when Mendenhall went down with an injury and responded by putting up consecutive 100+ yard games in his first 2 career starts, the first time in over 4 years that a Steelers running back had consecutive 100+ yard rushing games.
