The listing, 1965 Topps #106 GENE OLIVER (Milwaukee Braves) has ended.
This is an original vintage 1965 Topps #106 GENE OLIVER baseball card.
Signed into the St. Louis Cardinals organization in 1956, Oliver would win 3 minor league home run titles while with the Cardinals system before becoming their regular catcher in 1962. Traded to Milwaukee for Lew Burdette in 1963, Oliver became a staple with the Braves organization, getting converted to utility and playing both catcher and first base and appearing in over 400 games in 5 seasons. He followed the Braves when they moved to Atlanta in 1967 before being traded to the Phillies for Bob Uecker. All told, Oliver played 10 MLB seasons, cracking double-digit home runs 5 times, including 21 in 122 games with the Braves in 1965.
Card has some minor vintage wear but is not beaten up. Great card for a Braves collector or a vintage card collector.
