The listing, 1962 Topps #74 BOB LILLIS (Houston Colts) has ended.
This is an original vintage 1962 Topps #74 BOB LILLIS baseball card.
Drafted by the Houston Colt .45s (who later became the Astros) is the Rule 5 Expansion Draft in 1961, Lillis barely had 100 games played in his career before his 31st birthday in 1961, but Houston changed that, making Bob their starting shortstop for the franchise's first 4 seasons (1962-1965). He retired as a player in mid-1967, taking a coaching position with the team, and 15 years later, Lillis became the Astros manager, managing the Atros from mid-1982 until the end of the 1985 season, compiling a .514 winning percentage as the Astros skipper.
Card is in nice shape and would likely grade between VG and EX (excellent).
Thanks for looking, happy bidding, and good luck!
