Description

The listing, Forever Stamps No Limit Roll, Fun "5" Tiered Auction (Read first!) has ended.

As five is my favorite number, this auction is tiered on a scale of fives; that is, every time there is a 5 in the currently winning bid, I add another stamp. If we pass the 100 mark of a roll, I'll start another, restarting the "5 counter".

No limit means just that - bid till it's over and I'll keep adding.

The stamps being bid on are sealed US Forever stamp rolls of Lady Liberty and Flag. The third picture above is of opened example.

The auction will start with one (1) stamp. I'll track the number and update regularly.

Good luck everyone and have fun!

I love the auction and will bid later when the number reaches over 225 only because the cost for shipping is high unless you end up with more than 25 stamps or more. Would you concider cheaper shipping?

If you are not in the states I will consider cheaper... in the states is free!

WOW! I love this auction! The digit five idea, is so GREAT and sounds like soo much fun!!
I just have a question......would you consider adding a stamp when there is a five in the bid history or only on the currently winning bid?
Because you can see the bid history, but you can't ALWAYS be on to see what the currently winning bid is.....

Fanned you! Hope you can fan me back?
I think this is the absolute BEST stamp auction, I've seen here on Listia yet! You should do more like these when this one ends, just with different digits..... well, of course! thats up to you...LOL ;)
Watching this AMAZING auction!!

luv2read, the auction states it's every time there is a 5 in the winning bid, not every time anyone bids and there is a 5 in it. If you are the highest bidder and keep bidding, those bids won't show unless someone bids to that number (or the next lowest).

Exactly. I'll see what I can do to make sure the winner gets the proper amount of stamps - everyone's comments are a definite help!

In the meantime, I'll do what I can to keep updates regular so everyone knows where things currently stand.

I was wondering... do you realize that you can't see the entire previous bid history? Because I bid every single number possible with a five in it after 105... and not all of them show. I gave a 115, 125, 135, 145, 150, 151, 152, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 165, 175, 185, 195, 205, 215, 225, 235, 245, 250, 251, 252, 253, 254, 255, 256, and so on. And that adds up to a lot more than 10 stamps! The way I see it, thats 32 stamps already.

mirksmama has the right of it in the response a few down... As far as I know, the bid history I can see is the one of winning bids - that's part of why I'm throwing in so many extras as well though.

IDK, maybe you can write to Listia, and they have the entire bid history in file, so that way you could keep an accurate count... because there's no possible way you could always be on and see all of the bids.

It's just that as soon as there are new bids, the oldest bids get hidden and replaced by the newer ones in the bid history. Sorry if I am a bother!

No bother at all, I'm glad you are excited! I try to be fair, and this is a new idea, so we'll work out the bugs all together. Thanks for all the input, I appreciate it!

So there are still 10 stamps as of now?
Sorry, but this is a little confusing......
But its still not possible to be always on, as luv2read mentioned, to see what the winning bid is.....

Not quite. If one person bids 105, but it only shows up as, say, 17 and then the following bidder bid 110... that 105 never shows up. It simply goes from 17 to 110. That's a 1 stamp increase by the wording. However, as I've said, I'm tossing a bunch of "freebies" in and this is an idea in beta. (Very beta - first one here folks, be sweet!)

I do indeed hate going to the post office and buying stamps. But, it seems to me that you're getting the "short end of the stick" by throwing in an extra stamp in here and there. Nice idea, but I'd be too chicken (and broke) to do it myself. I hope you get enough credits to balance out the amount of $$ that you kicked in to buy the stamps for this auction. Best wishes :)

Aw, thank you. :) I won't be able to do this often (and I'm talking maybe once a year kind of not often) but I thought it a fun way to get people active and talking to each other.... we often forget to have fun and that's the whole point of sites like this. :)

Thanks for the assist! I count 15 "5's" in this batch, and for this one at least I'll go with the fact that it was mostly the same bidder. :) That might or might not change if I do this style auction again... but I'll keep this one consistent for sure. Ok, that 15 is added into the update below.

it works and anyone who stops and reads first should only put there bid for example since it's at 782 now the next person should bid 784 so. o matter what whoever the highbodder is the bid will go to 785 and so on and or people only bid a couple extra credits eah time so it stops at 785,790,795,800 ad so on so a new stamps added every few bids and once y'all get all the stamps then worry about out bidding rachother in last 20 seconds but till then it doesn't matter who the high bidder is work together and u will get alot of stamps added and then fightto win lol not really fight but u know!! well good luck and I'll try help get few extra stamps up

Ok, folks, update time! I saw three bids with 5's in them, adding another 3 stamps - bringing us up to.... 5!! In honor, I'll toss another 2 in, so current total is 7. So far so good, keep it up!

Ok, this is getting exciting!

If your current winning bid has a 5 in it, leaving a comment with the time would be very helpful... this idea is new so still getting all the kinks worked out!

I see 9 bids for sure in the history that have my favorite number! Last count was at 10 so 9 more.... 19.... and I'll toss another 5 in due to "beta" issues. ;) Thanks for all the patience everyone!

So new current total is 24! We're almost at a quarter of a roll!

Keep going folks, and remember, enjoying yourself is the most important part - these are wedding leftovers and I don't mind working with the winner so that everyone ends happy. :)
