This is a 1969 Topps Deckle Edge #5 JIM FREGOSI baseball card.

THE PLAYER:
Jim Fregosi was a baseball institution, spending over 50 years in the sport as a player, manager, coach, and advisor. he played 11 of his 18 seasons as a player with the California Angels, becoming the teams first bona fide star and earning 6 All Star appearances at shortstop. He managed 11 full seasons and 4 partial seasons, helping the Angels win the AL West in 1979, and leading the Philadelphia Phillies to the NL Pennant in 1993. Jim passed away in February of 2014 after a stroke.
