If you have a wireless router set up at home for your broadband service, then yes.
If you have a laptop, then this will allow you to access free wifi hotspots at libraries, malls, etc...

Also, if you live in a big city, you may be able to reach free hot-spots from your apt/home.
There may also be unsecured networks in the air, but unauthorized bandwidth pilferage is a huge No-No!
