Description
The listing, USSR space program pin -- real??? has ended.
It's about 1-1/2" x 1" and lightweight, with a clasp pin on back. Probably not real (that is, it's likely a reproduction) but I really don't know. I've had it for years and can't even recall where or when I obtained it.
FREE shipping (but to US addresses only)
Questions & Comments
Is it possible to see the other side? please email the picture to yuzefag@yahoo.com. Can you tell how many grams it is? Thank you
I've emailed you the photo, and posted it at www.bardenterprises.com/stuff/back.jpg as well (in case anyone else wants to check it out). It's hard to read, but I think it says 15KON on the back, with some sort of emblem which I can't make out at all. I don't have a scale accurate enough to weight it but as close as I can come it's less than 1/2 ounce (14 grams). Since it's only 10 points and free shipping, you should take a chance on it!
By the way, I've been doing a bit more research and from what I can find, this is very likely an authentic, USSR-issued pin. They were made in the 70s and 80s at the height of the space program. Although I have not been able to identify the specific program this one was made for, it is very similar to those made for the VENUS RESEARCH VENERA-4 and the MARS RESEARCH MARS-3 programs in the 70s. No terribly valuable, since they made a lot of them, but a very nice cosmonaut / space program collectible.
