I bought this for my dog but did not use it because she was afraid of the sound....ok, i admit it, i am a pushover...she got her way. the trimmer is complete and in the box. maybe you are the pack leader and can trim your pet's nails. i just can't do it.:(.

fanned & watching my fiancee and i just talked about getting 1 of these for our kitties we have 1 cat with 2 xtra toes on 1 paw and he's harder to get to sit still for "pedicures" and this may work better for us....

I got one of these and at first the dogs and cats were very afraid of it but I kept trying and now they prefer it over the conventional clipping. I did take the cover off the top though because it was uncomfortable to try and use it with the top on. Only it is messy with out the top so I drape a towel over the area I am at when I do this.
