The listing, Off Denticle and On Denticle 1949 Canadian One Cent Coins-On Denticle is Rare has ended.
The last time I saw a pair of these on Listia was around a year ago and someone stole them for between 26,000 and 27,000 credits.
1947, 1948 and 1949 were banner years for Canadian cent varieties. There are three different varieties for 1947, two of which have a small maple leaf next to the date to designate that they were actually minted in 1948 before the dies reflecting that India was no longer a part of the British empire were ready.1948 also has three varieties, small denticle, large denticle on denticle and large denticle off denticle. The scarcest of these is the small denticle.
In 1949 Canada decided to make all one cent coins off denticle but they accidentally used a 1948 obverse die for some coins and this die was on denticle. This is a rare coin and the premiums that it will fetch attest to that.
Of the eight varieties for 1947, 1948 and 1949 the 1949 on denticle is by far the rarest. If you need one you are at the right place because I am listing these two coins with NO MINIMUM BID and FREE SHIPPING.
