Does it have real picky thorns or the softer type?

When the thorns first start growing they are a softer type (I have a hard time seeing them & getting out of my fingers when I get stuck). As they grow, they become longer (like an inch or so) and very sharp.

No, don't know the name for the cactus. It has never blooomed, but I wish it would! I brought a little start of it back from FL once & they grow huge down there.

This is a pretty tough plant & doesn't really take much water. I get my son to put it outside every spring & bring it in the house in the fall. Now that it reached 7 feet tall, I might have to top it out next spring. Makes me really wish that I had a greenhouse! Good luck bidding.
