Now how can we bring these beautiful little purple butterflies across the boarder and into Canada.
I too, am suffer FM and have been since long before being diagnosed in 2005. I would love one of these butterflies and be very proud to have one. How would I go about getting one. Please help me! Thank you in advance.

It costs a LOT to ship even a small package to Canada. It just isn't worth it, you can buy these a lot cheaper on ebay from someone who will ship them to you for free. Honestly, I wouldn't want you to waste your money like that.

My mom has fibro along with many other things that come with it. Did you all know Morgan Freeman (who has always been my mom's favorite actor) also has fibro. More men than commonly mentioned are sufferers. They just don't admit it publicly. Many mention they did not know the purple butterfly was a symbol for fibro. So here is the explanation. Purple is the color for chronic conditions. The butterfly is the symbol for fibro. Why you ask. Butterflies are so light and you really don't know one has landed on you. They are as light as a breath, soft to the touch. Fibro sufferers can not handle the touch of for example: a hug even from a small child but if a butterfly landed on someone with fibro it would not bother them do to it is weightless. So, purple+butterfly= fibro symbol.

My daughter-in-law has fibro and Chiari Malformation. In short Chiari is a hole in the base of the skull and let's the brain drop, pressing on the neck and spine. Along with this is a whole host of symptoms and problems. I suspect more people have Chiari then just fibro. My DIL's was found by accident during an MRI in an ER visit for a migraine. I too am trying to raise awareness. Good luck to all and Happy Holidays. <3

Thanks so much Karin ... with so many people having fibro, they MUST have some things in common. Maybe Chiari affects many of those people.

Keep spreading the important information. It really is up to US (i.e. the patients) to figure out most of this stuff.

That's a good point ... I'm sure many people DO have other ailments with fibro. It also might be useful to try to find information about studies that are being done. I wonder if there is more science research in other countries than in the US ... might be some good information out there that doesn't pop up at the top of google searches.

Someone on LIstia told me a purple butterfly was a fibro symbol a long time ago, so I listed these charms but only had a few. I got more of them recently to share on Listia.

They are really neat charms ... my photos of them aren't the best but they are quite nice. I could also set up a listing for two of them and make earrings for the winner if they'd like. The charms are about 1.25 inch across and fairly lightweight, so they would make nice earrings also!

They had him in water but , it didn't help . Last person who touched him almost got knocked out. I had to stop him and the dr. was fast. lol
The last specialist said he was highly sensitive and she could not help him that he needed a pain specialist to try and help get it under control. She was an arthritis specialist .

More great ideas ... but be aware that when you post links on Listia, Listia's "system" usually puts a space or some other change into the URL so the link might not work. Try posting your links without the "http://www." at the front. This might prevent Listia from changing the URL so it won't work ...

Listia does this to prevent scammers from posting "bad" web sites ... so it is for our protection. Try going back to a link you posted in a comment, click on it and see if it works ... if not, you might want also offering a few words people can google so they will find that web site.

it is great to see someone who is dealing with FM so positive about life (Natahoa) - I too deal daily with FM and have several friends also diagnosed with it. Keep up the good conversations- more info is always better. thanks

I don't have fibro ... but I wanted to get this particular charm on Listia because I know so many people here do have it. I also just like this charm. Believe it or not, it's really difficult to find NICE charms with purple rhinestones. Usually the purple is an odd color for some reason. So, this charm was a great find!

I'm glad this has generated so much buzz for all who suffer from fibro. I was watching an HBO documentary on alzheimer's the other day and it is AMAZING the research and drug development that is going on for neurological disorders. LOTS of good stuff coming down the pike in the near future that I think will greatly benefit ALL neurological disorders (which fibro is believed to be).

I am so happy to see a blog come out of an auction. It is synchronicity. I do listia because it keeps my mind off of the pain of Fibromyalgia combined with complex regional pain syndrome. It so helps to talk with others. Pacing of activities really helps with pain levels. I was an RN for 25+ years and now am disabled. Listia gives me something I can do at my own pace. It has helped so much to have something to focus attention on besides what is going on with my body. I keep going no matter what. If it is not used it becomes useless. Keep walking even if you need that walker. I use a walking stick. When having good days I do not over do it. Massage takes a few days to recover from however it has done wonders for my body as a whole. Love and positive thinking helps so much, that is why these beautiful pendants can remind us it could always be worse. Live each day to the fullest. Meditation and/or allowing quiet time even if it is 10 minutes helps me. I also use a device called an Energy Cleaner. It is an amazing non-invasive device that works with energies of the body. I know it sounds "a little Kookie", however after laying on mine for afternoon naps and sleep I have noticed a difference in my energy, my sleep and my pain levels. I have had it about 6 months. If interested in the Energy Cleaner, you can reach me on my listia site macgypsy. Thank you so much natahoa. This is wonderful.

I'm a fibro sufferer as well. I find arthritis pool therapy helps the most. H2O needs to be higher than 84 degrees, if you have heat issues, you can't go much higher, but until I had hat issues my therapy pool was 94 degrees. Also medical massage. My pain doctor is holistic and uses in addition to the above, uses manipulation therapy and tries to keeps need to minimum

My husband has had the diagnosis of fibromyalgia for about 20 years now. He also has osteo and rheumitory arthritis, along with osteoperosis. He had this last March, two strokes and a heart attack. As a result, he had a mitro-valve replaced, six rotted teeth pulled, and some other surgeries. He is still walking and driving ect., though on disability. His doctors have all told him that the only reason that he is still walking, is
because he is so "bullheaded"!
He takes all kinds of medicines now. But feels better now than he has in three years.
He says the key is to keep moving, and not give up, when you give up, you won't move.
We have four children, ages, 13, 12, 7, and 6.
He is an inspiration to us, even through the bad days, and "good" days.

I have had it for many years and one of my sons has it too. He kept waking up thinking that he slept wrong and couldn't turn his head because it was so painful, but it would happen constantly. I went through the same thing until the doctor gave me botox injections in my shoulders. He won't admit that he has it and go to the doctor to see about the injections. I know that every day all of us people who have it go through severe pain and the medical community is not taking it serious enough. In all the years that I have had it, I have not found anything that works well but if I do, I will be sharing it with everyone. One other listian said something I loved which was soft hugs, so I send soft hugs out to everyone with this terrible ailment.

That's interesting ... you and others who report that men in your lives have fibro also. Have you tried the drug treatment for it, gabapentin? They advertise the drug called Lyrica, which is very expensive, but the generic gabapentin is very inexpensive. I know it doesn't help everyone but it's worth a try.

My heart goes out to all the fibro sufferers ... I truly believe science is getting closer to figuring out how this and other neurological disorders actually work. I hope it happens very soon.

Thanks so much Rah ... so nice to see you browsing my listings! I'll have to check out yours too ... they are always fun to browse!

Good luck if you are bidding! I also have these Get it Now ... this charm is one of your choices if you GIN my listings titled:
✔ GIN for ONE ♥ BEST ♥ Charm ~40+ Choices ...

I have more than 200 charms you can win with Get it Now.
Type "natahoa charm" in the search box and look for my the listings titled:
✔ 80+ Charms ♥ YOU Choose ♥ (least expensive)
✔ 60+ Charms ♥ YOU Choose ♥
or
✔ GIN for ONE ♥ BEST ♥ Charm ~40+ Choices ...

I have MULTIPLE listings ~ choose the number of charms you win (the higher the quantity, the lower the per-charm price).

You also choose either free or paid shipping ~ if you are buying credits, my "paypal ship" listings will cost LESS than buying enough credits to win my free-shipping listings!

I have been out of town for a few days so many of those listings have sold or expired, but I plan to
★ RELIST them all today ★
Please check them out and have fun shopping!
