The eagle is in a more natural pose, still with a shield in front and holding arrows and olive branches but slanted forward slightly like a real eagle. 1816-1817 Quarter production briefly pauses. Quarter production resumes in 1818, with the design first used in 1815 being used again."
So its either not from 1817, or it is a fake.
From the little bit of the outline i can see, it looks like its the style from 1818, that is the same as the 1815 design.
