This is a 12 inch long embossing folder which is very hard to find. I call this the bow embossing folder. It's perfect for those 12 inch paper widths! You can even find the 12 inch platforms to support the length in craft stores or online. Most folders are usually about 5 1/2 inches long. This is a brand new embossing folder by Darice. It can be used on most embossing machines although I tend to use mine on Anna Griffin's cricut machine made by Provocraft.

I initially purchased this to decorate packages that I mail as it can be used for all sorts of occasions for example: birthday, Christmas, graduation, or wedding. This would look so cute for cards or scrapbooking those special moments. If you need some help learning embossing techniques, there are lots of demonstration videos on you-tube and by Tim Holtz on timholtz.com. Tim likes to use a light sander to gently rub the top of the embossed item to make it pop. Anna Griffin does the same thing, but she likes to also use a brayer and put washable metallic ink in the folder then run it through the embossing machine. Then, just wash off the ink. She also will use an ink pad and just dab the top of an embossed image.
