Questions & Comments
Interesting piece. I noticed that it has an expiration date on it which means that is is a local incentive piece. Does anyone know anymore about the origin of this? I wouldn't call it a "wooden nickel" but in some ways it is very much like one. Definitely calls for some more research. Thanks for sharing
Its a Local Piece From Manitoulin Island in Canada 2001 was the first Bimetallic Piece for this series.. as far as i know Mintage for these pieces range between 4,000 - 6,000 pieces making them very scarce with a odd number $3 Denomination
his is a bimetallic $3 municipal trade token issued by Manitoulin Island , Ontario, in 2005. It shows the common side to this long series of tokens, the islands and wildlife, and the other side shows a sugar shack (springtime) :-) If it's can help you!
