this would be great to win on layaway with get it now and then as you gain credits it automatically pays for it as your credits come in. The only down fall on that would be if your out of credits because of a rewards store layaway you wouldnt be able to list auctions because of the listing fees, youd have to do offers, surveys or watch the videos or buy the credits. So youd have to make sure you had enough auctions listed that would actually sell while you still have time to pay for the layaway. With 30 days to pay for it in full, if you ran out of time, youd get a auto refund if you made payments on it every week and ran out of time. thus you could go back re get it now all over again and have another 30 days to pay for it. just my thoughts..............

Aladyinneed-- a layaway Listia program sounds GREAT!! We should suggest that to them. And maybe- like most store layawayS-- IF you don't pay it off within the time frame (4 weeks Id suggest) than Listia refunds all but like 10-20% of the price. So then Listia doesn't get stuck with people canceling their layways- saying they no longer want a item or changing their minds when they find something they want more. This will ensure Listia doesn't "lose" and also encourages buyers to follow through.
And they have certain rules- like only 1 item layaway per 5 weeks, or no more than 3 "bail outs" (changing minds) per year, things like that.

However you said, that You have to HAVE credits in your account to "list" auctions. And that's not necessarily true. If you list a auction with a start bid Under 500, and No GIN option-- than you don't have to pay to list. And most days Listia awards you credits for listing auctions. Not many credits, but it all adds up!! Lol

GREAT IDEA THOUGH! Maybe even a Listia "Credit" program. (Credit as in credit card) like for example-- if approved you get approved for up to 100,000 credit limit- paid back in monthly/biweekly payments of 10,000 credits. Lol. But not new members, you would have to have a special badge to be able to apply. Like have sold/won a minimum of 400 items. Or something.
