And I already thought I was your fan but apparently not?? So now I'm your fan, too! :)

My favorite movie, well one of my MANY favorite movies, is Grind. Don't ask me why, loved it since I was younger. It's just ridiculously funny. And another is the original Transformers movie. I'm so excited to see the third one now but I don't think you can top the first. Hmm... I can also watch The Little Mermaid over and over again to this day because it brings me such happy childhood memories. :) Can't wait to have kids to share it with! :)

The Story:
Part I (disc 1): Returning to England after fighting in the crusades, the Saxon knight Ivanhoe is determined to clear his name of allegations that he has betrayed King Richard and rescue his beloved Rowena from a loveless marraige.
Disguised as a pilgrim, Ivanhoe comes to the aid of Isaac of York, who offers him a chance to compete in Prince John's trounament. Ivanhoe defeats all his opponents, earning the enmity of the Prince, but suffers a would in the melee. Afterwards, he is tended to by Rebecca, Isaac's daughter, before their camp is stormed by John's vengeful followers, who capture Ivanhoe, his father, Isaac, Rebecca, and Rowena.
Part II (Disk II): Hailed by critics on both sides of the Atlantic, this rousing adaptation of Sir Walter Scott's masterpiece stars Ciaran Hinds (Jane Eyre, Persuasion), Susan Lynch (The Secret of Roan Inish), and Steven Waddington as Ivanhoe.
Robin Hood and his allies, including the Black Kight, prepare to storm the castle where Ivanhoe and his coharts are being held. During the attack, they manage to free Rowena from the clutches of Prince John's henchman, Bois-Guilbert (Christopher Lee). He then kidnaps Rebecca, and they flee as the castle burns.
Prince John sentences Rebecca to burn as a withe and her only chance for survival is to demand trial by combat. Ivanhoe learns of her plight and rides to her defense-despite Rowena's objections-eager to confront Bois_Guilbert, right old wrongs, and face the truth of his divided heart.

The insidious rise of anti-Semitism in the 21st century is examined in this documentary from filmmaker Richard Trank. In a world where tolerance is supposedly the watchword, politically, spiritually and historically-based slander against Jews is making a surprising comeback, as radical Moslems encourage violence against Jews, political leaders espouse anti-Israeli policies in the name of supporting the rights of Palestinians, right-wing skinheads recruit teenagers into their ranks, and commentators often cite the Jewish state for crimes which are ignored when committed by other nations. Ever Again presents damning evidence of rising anti-Jewish sentiment in France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, and features interviews with Alan Dershowitz, Nicolas Sarkozy, Louise Ellman and Dr. Judea Pearl. Ever Again was produced with the cooperation of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles.
I purchased this movie pre-viewed at Blockbuster or Hollywood video. It is in good shape but obviously used. Plays well.

Storyline
Fond de l'Etang is a boarding school for troubled boys located in the French countryside. In the mid-twentieth century, it is run by the principal M. Rachin, an egotistical disciplinarian whose official unofficial mantra for the school is "action - reaction", meaning that there will be severe consequences for any boy out of line. This approach does not seem to be working as the boys as a collective are an unruly bunch. In turn, the teachers don't teach, but are always watching out for the next subversive act from the boys. January 15, 1949 marks the arrival to the school of the new supervisor, M. Clément Mathieu, a middle-aged man who is grasping at finding his place in life after a series of failed endeavors. Although he does find the boys an unruly lot, Mathieu does not believe in the "action - reaction" policy, and as such, butts heads with Rachin while secretly undermining the policy

I'm watching. Great auction. My favorite film is "To Kill a Mockingbird". based on the book by Harper Lee. It takes place in the south and the story is about a African American man accused of raping a white women. He is innocent and his lawyer is Atticus Finch who is the single parent of Jem and Scout. The story touches on race, innocence, love and growing up. I have seen it many times and the closing argument still brings me to tears. I love the book and the movie.

Story Line:
Alfred Blalock (1899-1964), a cardiologist (therefore, self-confident to the point of arrogance), leaves Vanderbilt for Johns Hopkins taking with him his lab technician, Vivien Thomas (1910-1985). Thomas, an African-American without a college degree, is a gifted mechanic and tool-maker with hands splendidly adept at surgery. In 1941, Blalock and Thomas take on the challenge of blue babies and invent bypass surgery. After trials on dogs, their first patient is baby Eileen, sure to die without the surgery. In defiance of custom and Jim Crow, Blalock brings Thomas into the surgery to advise him, but when Life Magazine and kudos come, Thomas is excluded. Will he receive his due?

Second Game and a chance for another $5.00 gift card.
For this game, I will be giving a free prize. In order to get a chance at this, I would ask that you comment on what your all-time favorite movie is and a little something about it or why you like it. I love hearing what makes a movie special to someone. I will start.

My all-time favorite movie ever is Princess Bride. It is timeless and full of everything I like to see in a movie. Action, adventure, LOVE... but most of all it is hilarious. This is the first movie my husband and I watched together and it will always be special to me.

So...of all the people who participate, one will be chosen (randomly and fairly) by my son out of a hat.
Thanks for stopping by.

New York, 1959. Max Bialystock was once the king of Broadway, but now all his shows close on opening night. Things turn around when he's visited by the neurotic accountant Leo Bloom, who proposes a scheme tailor-made for producers who can only make flops: raise far more money than you need, then make sure the show is despised. No one will be interested in it, so you can pocket the surplus. To this end, they produce a musical called Springtime for Hitler written by escaped Nazi Franz Liebken. Then they get the insanely flamboyant Roger De Bris to direct. Finally, they hire as a lead actress the loopy Swedish bombshell Ulla (whose last name has over 15 syllables). As opening night draws near, what can go wrong? Well, there's no accounting for taste...
