This is a 1999 Upper Deck MVP "Silver Signature" card for MARK McGwire of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Because someone will inevitably ask: no, it is not an authentic autograph, but it is a parallel insert. Silver Script or Silver Signature cards, which feature a silver foil facsimile autograph embossed into the card (the base version has no signature) were issued one in every few packs of 1999 MVP. A Silver Script version exists for all 220 base cards.

The 1987 AL Rookie of the Year with the Oakland A's, McGwire spent almost a decade with the Athletics before being traded to the St. Louis Cardinals. He rewarded the Cardinals by setting a major league record with 70 home runs in 1998. He blasted over 500 home runs in his career.
