Vietnam, formerly French indo China, has a long history of conflict. The winner of this auction will receive a cancelled early French Indo China stamp and an uncancelled French IndoChina stamps, one of last issued by the French, and a United Nation's cachet First Day of Issue 1980 cover. The winner of the auction will also receive an addition free bonus FDC.

The Vietnam War cost over 50,000 American lives before ending with a treaty between North Vietnam and South Vietnam during the Nixon Administration. When North Vietnam violated the treaty and sent troops and tanks South, the South Vietnamese military was over run having had military aid cut off by the Democrat controlled Congress after Nixon's resignation. Thousands were slaughtered in Cambodia and Vietnam and thousands of others fled to neighboring Thailand and other countries. Different countries in different part of the world but same mistakes seem to have been made again..
