Dark Souls is brilliant, and so is Bioshock. Grand Turismo 5 is as well, assuming you download all the patches/updates, then it becomes the most solid racer on the system (really can't think of a racing game or sim that comes close on PS3, or 360 for that matter). It's really contingent on if you like dark and challenging action games. Bioshock weaves more of a story than Dark Souls, whose story is a bit more minimal and depends on self-exploration, visuals cues and piecing together the mythology (so a bit more subtle).

All the games I have gotten new there where sealed. Never got a new game there that was opened.

Weird. It must differ from store to store (or even state). They tend to do this in the Chicago and Florida locations. They always sell me an opened copy that says "new" on it, which is hard to complain given the numerous ways you can pay for the purchase with trade ins, etc, as opposed to Target.

It's a bit scary to think your health goes down in Dark Souls 2. Now I'm really interested to see how unforgiving it is.

Wow, that was fast. I might actually take the plunge now. Well, maybe before Christmas. I feel I can get pretty much anything around 20-25 around 'Black Friday'.

I could never get past that evil knight in the forest after you defeat that thunder monster in that basement area...not sure if you know what I mean. You can get the knight to attack at air in that forest - which requires something to get inside the door - but I could never figure out the placement. I read you can make him fall off a cliff or something, which I'll believe when I see. Great game. I really need to look into playing Dark Souls 2 at some point after all the DLC is out.

I never finished dark soul's 1 I got to angry after being killed a 100 time in 10 min. I heard dark souls 2 is even nastier. If you get it there are some tips on the youtube on how to survive. I learned later about darksouls1 that you do not even have to destroy the skeletons. All you have to do is get past them.

There's also this 2-3 headed boss in this rat-filled cave. He has a giant sweeping tail attack. Never got past him. I basically just grinded forever to little-to-no results, lol.

yea when I first commented that I got killed over 100 times in 10 min I met it. I was swearing and just about broke the ps3 remote. I was like how am I supposed to destroy these guys with a broken sword lol. Then my friend who is also a huge gamemer said I told you this game was 99% hard. The next time I play I am getting all the tips I can off the net.

The games seem to get progressively harder. I played Demon's Souls and I was so mad I stopped playing it for months--some archers at the top of some castle walls. It would be a lot easier if the enemies didn't get stronger after you died, but I guess that's the draw. All I know is I feel a sense of dread when I turn on the game and wonder how some people have mastered it--granted, these are usually people who have clocked in several hundred hours.

I agree people do spend alot of time playing the game. My son beat demon souls. I never tried it. I heard it was the hardest game made at the time. My son is a Hardcore gammer. He said it was easy.

I've had a GIN since the auction was up, though I feel the number was a bit more random (was trying to cover GIN fees at the time).

You should definitely play Demon's Souls. The world of Demon's Souls is a bit more contained and linear than the open-world of Dark Souls, so both deserve a playthrough. Just bear in mind you'll need a walkthrough/tips from IGN or something, and preferably a PS3 hooked up to the internet so you can get the full experience and see the little notes and 'bloodstains' (see: tips/warnings people leave so you don't get killed a certain way) that people leave you.

Nice. Let me know how you enjoy it. I plan to get it later if they ever decide to bundle it with some of the DLC. My friend seems to enjoy it quite a bit and he hates everything.

Much better than part 6, in my opinion. The vanilla game is like a solid 8, but with all the updates/patches and improvements applied, it becomes a solid 9.

Aren't GameStop's new copies opened as well? I remember asking for a new game recently, and it was already opened and they added the disc manual to it right before my eyes. Same price as a new game, but not technically new (could have been a 'like new' trade in). So yeah, might as well save some money buying used since it's hard to tell what's new and what's used there sometimes. (I have gotten sealed games from them in the past, but they usually do the opened game thing.)

Crazy hard game but very rewarding. 100 hours in and there's still plenty of things to do. The level/statistical cap on the game seems to be huge.
