I have looked at the package and online and I don't believe there is a fee for the first year. However, I would always suggest you look on the website to see if you learn that there is a small fee to register. Thanks.

I'm glad you looked it up. Did you find out there is a fee? It appears to me to be free. The stories there are so heartwarming about how many shelters and pet owners are so excited about this tag that uses a sort of "amber alert" that helps find pets immediately after they are lost! Everyone should have one of these on each pet! Thanks for looking and let me know if you've found any better information.

ALSO GOOD FOR DOGS! I just wanted to let you all know that this tag can be used for a dog too, if you don't mind the little cat on the tag. You will register your pet online and create a profile identifying dog or cat or other pet, breed, gender, age, etc as well as all methods of contacting you (even include friends who can be called if you want). I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! If you don't get it from me, please visit WWW.IDTAG.COM and you can order a custom tag which also has your pet's name engraved. I just can't stand to think of a pet who is lost and separated from the family and heaven forbid it ends up in a shelter where it may not be adopted and lose it's life.
