Walt Bond is a story of triumph and tragedy. Diagnosed with leukemia in 1962, bond continued to play and enjoyed his best seasons with the Houston Colts in 1964 and 1965. In 1964 he blasted 20 home runs and drove in 85 runs. In spite of his illness, he made the Twins roster in 1967 but died in the closing weeks of the 1967 season at age 29.
Jim Umbricht played 5 seasons and was a part of the 1960s Pirates team who won the World Series. he was diagnosed with cancer before the 1963 season but enjoyed his best seasons in 1962 and 1963, when he combines for a 2.33 ERA in 69 appearances over the 2 year span. He passed away on April 8, 1964, and the Houston Colts wore black armbands for the season to commemorate him.

The Bond card is in fair to good condition. It has some vintage wear but is not beaten up.
The Umbricht card is in fair to poor condition with a few light creases and should be considered as filler.
