I didn't know verification was possible, that's very good to know because sometimes the cashiers forget to activate them. Did you just call the 800 my apple #? thanks!

If you call the 1-800 my apple number for a gift card balance it tells you to go online to the itunes store customer support. From there you can send them the card # and they will verify the balance, they will respond within 24 hours.
