Can I ask the age or how acquired? Is it truly Victorian age? Or just cast in the Victorian style? Thx!!

My great-great-grandmother got this for her coming out party when she was 16 yrs.
old in 1872. My great grandmother got it on her 16th in 1888, my grandmother got it on her 16th birthday in 1920......she skipped my mother and gave it to me on my 16th birthday in 1973. I have had it ever since. Cant get any more Victorian than
that I think. Hope that answered your questions.

Thank you for listening, it's not easy, but it is a material thing when life gets tough
and it makes it easier.

If that is the story and it belonged to my family like that there is no way I could part with it especially for free...credits are not worth it at all! I have jewelry just costume from my grandmother and I would not part with it. If my son does not remarry before my death then it goes to my niece to keep then she will give to her daughter when it is time. I am sorry not mad or grilling you just saying how it is I feel about this kind of things. Call me touchy I guess LoL!

Although I do have 2 daughters, one lives on the east coast and the other on
the west coast. They both want nothing to do with my family as they severed all
ties because of family problems a few years back. My Nieces don't care or even know someone other than there own family exists. So family doesn't mean that much to others in my family. If I took it to the flea market someone would want to
pay very little for it or buy it to melt down. I do it on Listia because I have to down size and someone hears my stories about were they came from. I know the person who fights for it or is the winner, will take care of it because of the history and story
behind it. I couldn't part with it selling to someone who might destroy it. That is more heart breaking than anything to me. So please don't think I am someone who
would give away a piece of history lightly. My husband and I lost our House and our retirement in the 2008 crash. We lost nearly every thing we worked our whole life
because of greedy Mortgage lenders, home developers, and the stock market were our retirement fund was used for the CEO's of my husbands company to get there
money back, and didn't care about their employees when they dumped there company. I cant work because of complications of Diabetes. But I love Listia and what I sell on here I convert into gift cards and I feel like I am contributing with buying groceries and gas. So, that makes it a little easier to give up material stuff.
Sometimes the back story makes you realize that judging people and the why without knowing is not so good. Thanks for listening, guess I vented there too!

Well I don't know if I will have enough credits by the time other people bid this up this evening but I'm willing to throw all I have at it. Your story becomes part of my story if I win. And I'd be honored. I've met some ppl on here that are more like family than some of my own and I cherish those ppl and the items we exchange. It IS worth everything to me to know JUST WHO is getting my possessions and it brings me joy to know they are being enjoyed even if not by me. We lost our house in 2008 too. Altho I'm just 35, my hubby and I had built our lives over the past 15 years and lost it all. So I know how you feel. Its awful to feel jilted by ppl who have never known HALF the suffering we have. I will definitely be bidding and although I don't have kids to give it too when I'm gone, its the kind of thing I will wear all the way to my grave! Lol I hope no matter who gets it they think of it like the treasure it is and appreciate YOU too for making it possible! Sorry guess I vented a bit there too! ;-)

You are a sweet heart for saying that, because that is so how I feel too. No one
can know the loss one feels to watch all that you have worked for being lost. It is
like no other. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I hope you recover enough to look forward to a happy retirement. When my husband retires, he will have to be a Wal-Mart greeter or something (LOL). You are young enough to rebuild. Nobody wants
us old folks working. Evan though we have the experience, knowledge and been there done that mentality.....go figure!..............thanks sweetie.....good luck!
