With the fall gardening season upon us, and due to the humbling popularity of my past seed auctions, I’m pleased to bring you my “Fall Veggie Garden Mix”. (For those interested in the (quicker) Get It Now (GIN) option, please see my other auctions.)

The winner of this auction will receive individual sized packets (6-12 seeds) of the following organic heirloom seed (from Hawthorne Organic Farm or Baker Creek Heirloom Seed):

Beet - both one (1) packet ‘Bull’s Blood’ (1st pic) AND one (1) packet ‘Detroit Dark Red’ (2nd pic)
Lettuce - both one (1) packet ‘Baby Mix’ (3rd pic) AND one (1) packet ‘May Queen’ (4th pic)
Mache - choose one (1) packet ‘Corn Salad’ (5th pic) OR one (1) packet ‘Dutch Corn Salad’ (6th pic)
Pea - choose one (1) packet ‘Lincoln Shelling’ (7th pic) OR one (1) packet ‘Mammoth Melting Snow’ (8th pic)
Radish - choose one (1) packet ‘French Breakfast’ (9th pic) OR one (1) packet ‘Pink Beauty’ (10th pic)
Swiss Chard - choose one (1) packet ‘Rainbow Mix’ (11th pic) OR one (1) packet ‘Bionda di Lyon’ (sorry, no pic)

To summarize: two (2) packets Beet; two (2) packets Lettuce; one (1) packet Mache (Corn Salad); one (1) packet Pea; one (1) packet Radish and one (1) packet Swiss Chard - for a total of eight (8) packets.

Though I personally think these vegetables achieve their peak flavour in the fall gardening season, they also thrive (and are usually planted) in the spring. This is important as, depending on your hardiness zone, some of these seeds may be beyond their last recommended planting date for the fall season by the time you receive them...though as a wise teacher once said to me “Remember, plants don’t read books”...or hardiness zone maps. ;-)
