The listing, Datil a.k.a. Banana Yucca (Yucca Baccata) Seeds hardy perennial, zones 4-10 has ended.

Package of 15 seeds, hand-collected by me from healthy plants.

A showy plant with a beautiful stalk of flowers that some relish as a favorite wild food.
The fruits are also edible and said to taste somewhat like a sweet potato when baked.
It is found in rocky desert soils, grasslands and open woods throughout the southwestern United States.
Grows native here in the high elevation reaches of northern New Mexico, They seem to have an amazing tolerance to the dry summers and where the winters are snowy. Of the few that grow on my property, they need no upkeep. Their beautiful spring blooms add a nice touch of color to any xeriscape.

These seeds are not commercially available, meaning you cannot find them from your local garden center or seed catalogs!

Thanks for the great question.

The photo is of the exact plants that these seeds came from. They bud that purplish-pink color that you see in the photo and as they open the flowers bloom white.

I would like to comment on your shipping entry. Let me start with I completely understand where you are coming from. Just recently I did not recieve my item. Im very honest and luckily the seller was also. She said that there were a couple different things stolen during shipping. She made it right with me. I told her that if the original item should show up I would ship the others back. I love honesty. When you get those that arent it takes away from those that are!

Ok about the yucca....lol I dont know zones.. Im really new to planting . Im in Indiana. Will they prosper if planted in direct sun?

Hi. Thanks! I've actually only once had an item not arrive to a winner and it had tracking on it! But, yes, I made it right with the person. In fact she became a wonderful repeat winner.

Now about the yucca... There's a website that you can look up your zone. It's http://michiganbulb.com/pop_findzone.asp But 4-10 pretty much covers the entire USA, lol. So, yes, they'll grow for you in Indiana and in full sun. I've started all of mine in damp paper towels and once the root breaks out of the seed, I transfer to a peat pellet until it shoots a leaf. These only sprout one blade at a time, unlike most other plants that come from seed with two leaves. Once it has two or three blades, I plant it in the ground. They do really well in a rocky soil mixture.
