Oh indeed. That's all I insist on collecting is the old ones. I think the best one I have though (at least value-wise) is my Machamp. It's first edition, and it's shadowless. :)

I agree that blastoise alone in the condition that it is in should go for 5-6k, they're not horrible condition, they're not near mint, they are played condition but even a blastoise of this kind in this kind of played condition is worth 5k alone. Not to mention the venusaur which is same value and in same condition so the gin he is offering is a good fair equal value gin. The 8,500 he was willing to lower it down to was a generous value to anyone.
