PS4 wasn't designed to be backwards compatible. It's the next (well current now) gen gaming system and they've decided to release Playstation Now instead of allowing you to play ps3 games on ps4. When PS3 was released, game developers had a lot of hiccups when trying to design PS3 compatible games. It wasn't an easy system to produce games for, so the PS4 console made it a lot easier for game developers...allowing them to do more with their games and their graphic rendering. Being that they're 2 completely different systems, designed to work completely different, there's no way of making ps4 backwards compatible, and no way of playing ps4 games on ps3. It would simply be impossible to do developmentally speaking. So now because of the everlasting popularity of ps3 and the lack of titles for ps4 currently, Playstation has released "Playstation Now" allowing the rental and streaming of ps3 games on the ps4...which is really cool cause it doesn't require you to own anything. You can rent and play as much as you'd like and when u get tired of a game, no selling or trading, just rent another one. And it's not even expensive which just adds to the appeal! Just some Playstation Knowledge for you since I'm feeling generous today :) LOL It's like the Wii...I have a first gen Wii from when it came out and it plays Gamecube games due to backwards compatibility. The newer Wii's (not the wii u the original wii) are not backwards compatible so I'm not even gonna get rid of it cause we play games from 2 different systems on one. And I guess the new gen of gaming isn't about all that LOL
