is this something you made (just a book with pages cut out)? are the pages also glued together so the valuables don't just fall out ?

Yes, I took a real book and cut out pages on the inside The items will not fall out, because the opening is in the middle of the book. No need to glue the pages. It holds the items inside. I use this myself to hide items on my bookshelf.
