This looks very interesting - do you know if it's geared towards young children only or for all ages until they reach high school?

ALL ages!! It helps parents, teachers, and children alike, learn how to deal with the special behaviors and emotional stability of gifted children. It will help define what "gifted" is and explains the 6 areas they use to determine 'gifted'. It has explanations of identification; tests and characteristics, motivation, discipline,Peer/sibling/parent relationships, depression, and communication.

Although my children and grandchildren are all grown up I know several couples that could use this book, most of us have children that are promising if we just give a little help along the way

AMEN!!! I say it's all in the presentation and education of the parent!! It's not easy by any means!! But, I've raised 2 wonderful gifted children who are thriving today because I recognized the need! :D

As a special education teacher I am truly touched by the amount of interest in this book. It makes me think maybe I should post some of my awesome education books for people who could use them. You rock! ^_^

WONDERFUL!! And thank you!! You so should list some!! It's such a neglected area of education!! And especially in an era of the 'Home schooling' and charter schools :/ My sister-in-law is special ed teacher also! And I worked for a Psychologist for many years!! Taught me tons and helped me raise to awesome gifted children -- one easy, one not so much! LOL! But educating yourself is key I say!! Thank you for your kind comments! :D

OH they are definitely a challenge!! Lot's of work with behavior modification. And consistency and letting them know there's a reaction/consequence for every good/negative action is very key!! So many things I wish I'd done differently --which every parent will say LOL, however my two young adult children have turned out so marvelously!! PROUD mom here!! Hard work pays off. Know you're not alone!! :D

Is this gifted as in special needs or advanced? Can be one in the same if you ask me but I am asking for a person with an autistic child.

YES, it could be for both, however, depending on the level of "functioning autism", there are so many levels. For instance, Asperger is a high functioning form of autism and this book would be helpful in many areas of working with a "Gifted Child" --"Gifted" does not necessarily define intelligence.
