***THIS SONY IS EXCELLENT***
It has some scratches, but other than the apperencece and the fact it can not charge, nothing is wrong. Probably just needs new battery set up. Have fun with a little repair. ^_^ but honestly cheap fix for winner.

If you are referring to the DC input jack as the part being broken. I also work on PC's and am SONY certified (as well as many others)
The Dc in jack is inexpensive, and is NOT part of the motherboard.
Replacement however is not for the newbs in the crowd as the lower half of the laptop must be taken apart.

It works but the internal power supply needs to be fixed. My brother put foil in the insertion hole for the adapter. That's the only problem with it. It will not turn. on untill that is fixed.

I am using the same exact lapop and have the same exact problem. I can plug it in and it will work but without pulgging it in. It does not charge and u cannot use it on the go. It has to be something wit Vaio's cuz someone is auctioning a nice newer one with no battery or charger?

Not so easy to fix since it is an integral part of the motherboard and if aluminum foil was inserted into the hole where the power supply was hooked and that power supply plugged into it its hard telling how much damage is done to that computer
