The listing, FREE 8x10 Custom Pencil Drawing Commission has ended.

This site has been such fun and the people are so nice that I wanted to offer something unique and special. As the winner you will get a custom one of kind pencil drawing by me of anything you want. (except animals...I don't do animals) Just send me a HIGH QUALITY & CLEAR photo and I will turn it into a unique piece of art. Keep in mind that I can only draw what I see so the better the photo the better the drawing. Remember this auction is for an 8x10 portrait ONLY.
I do have some terms to follow so PLEASE read them before bidding!!

i think i only have 2 questions for you right (but that could always change at any given moment ~haha)
1). i'm curious to know if your talent in drawing runs in your family? and if so, is it an immediate family member like mom, dad, sibling or grandparents, etc.? orrr did you invest in your desire to draw and taught yourself? which ever way --

LOL! First of all thank you for your awesome compliment :)
These are great questions! And yes my family is actually full of creative people. My mother has been painting for years and also used to make our own clothes. My dad is more into music, plays guitar and used to be in a band years ago. My siblings are more musical people which I'm not really into. My sister (the one in the 1st drawing) toured with a Broadway play recently and my younger brother is a really awesome rap artist. My other siblings can draw, but more cartoon illustration type stuff and don't practice it much anymore. Other than that it's just me and my mom who are more the artsy fartsy relatives lol. Oh and the only real technical art schooling I had was throughout high school and a semester in college where I majored in fine arts and dropped out to get a full time job. Everything else is self taught.
As far as these auctions go this is my third one and I love it. I definitely plan on doing it again. Probably within a week after this one ends depending on if I get any new orders in or not. I never thought of doing that. I love drawing celebrities because they have the most interesting expressions and the photos are so clear. I just thought of it as good practice. Maybe I will do that. Thanks!

Your GIN should be alot higher hun. You have more talent then I have seen in a long time. My daughter is 10 and she loves to draw ppl and let me tell you, she also has the gift. I will be following you on this site and the other. Talent that makes me smile!

I think I was around 10 when I started to realize I liked to draw. Around 12 I would rip out pages from my Tiger Beat magazines and draw Devon Sawa and JTT and show them to my friends LOL. My skills have gone up tremendously since then (I hope!) and that has a lot to do with practice and more practice. I stopped for a few years a few times but I always come back to it no matter what. I love to hear that young kids are still into the arts. I also love to hear a parent's support of their art. She should keep drawing and doing any kind of art she can get her hands on. I've tried different mediums over the years until finally I realized pencil drawings is where I felt my best. I wish her luck and tell her to take art classes and don't stop drawing. I also love to draw but find I do not have the time to invest in it. Seeing another artist's work always makes me smile and you have indeed polished your skills since you were a kid! Like you I started young too, but like I said, I am so busy that I rarely have the time...I do miss it, but I have been learning a new love, wire wrapping and beading ;) but maybe one day I'll get back to my drawings. Love this and watching as I have been trying to start one of my step daughter and her husband, but time has certainly been a major factor in slowing me WAY down. **sigh** keep it up and keep those pencils sketching!!! ;) Fanned you too! And check out my jewelry pieces which I put here from time to time...(again--time is the culprit!) lol

so true! time is evil my friend. I find time after my kids go to bed to draw and make my hair barrettes. Even then it's not enough so i totally get what you're saying. i hope one day you find time to get some drawing in. I went a while without drawing at all a few times and every time I go back to it I feel so much better. I looked at your green wrapped pendant and I love the design in the thumbnail, but the larger picture makes it too blurry. From what I see it's really very pretty :)

OMFG!!!!! as i scream it from the top of my lungs!!! are you kidding about your sis? which broadway production did she tour? if it's shrek the musical i swear i'll have a corinary (listia needs spell check haha). i'm a DANCER too! i've been dancing since i was 4 and stayed dedicated (and i mean faithfully) until after high school. then last year, my dance instructor hooked me up with an audition for shrek the musical so i went to new york city to try out for the part. i got to the final 10 but i didn't make the cut. i was sooo bummed.
i envy your sis though; maybe someday she can give me a few pointers lol

That is cool that you're a dancer! That was my answer when i was little of what I wanted to be when i grew up lol. And now my daughter says she wants to be a dancer and I would love to support that in any way I can. I love anything to do with art and dance. I do art, but I love to watch dance. Have you ever tried out for that show So You Think You Can Dance? LOVE that show! That's still so cool that you made it that far for Shrek. It's such a hard and cut throat business. Keep dancing and I hope you get something really really good!
My sister has been living in NYC for the last 6 or so years and the tour was her biggest break so far. Its always fun to hear what she's doing next. You can visit her website at isabelsantiago.com. But she's more of a singer and actress than a dancer. I mean she can dance really good, but it's not her first talent. She toured for over a year with In The Heights playing the character Daniela. She's back in NYC recording some music. She's pretty freakin awesome :D

Yes I will draw anything you want (except animals like I mentioned before lol). The prices on my website are base prices for single portraits. Anything more after that will be more and can be discussed after a picture is sent.
I had all these prices set for extra people, headshots and full bodies, then with a background and different combinations, but it became too complicated. I prefer having a conversation and coming up with a price together and agreeing on it before I start a drawing. I hope that makes sense lol.
