Description

The listing, Tuquoise Semi-Precious Gemstone Pendulum Point Pendant has ended.

This Auction is for a Turquoise Semi-Precious Gemstone Pendulum Point Pendant with an open cage bell cap bail. It measures 1 1/2" long by 3/8th wide at stone by 1/2 wide at bail and is six sided.

More on Turquoise;

It is perhaps the oldest stone in man’s history, the talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors. It is a stone of protection, strong and opaque, yet soothing to the touch, healing to the eye, as if carved from an azure heaven and slipped to earth. Its unique shade of blue, often blue-green, lends it name, Turquoise, to all things of this tranquil hue.

For thousands of years, Turquoise has spanned all cultures, prized as a symbol of wisdom, nobility and the power of immortality. Among the Ancient Egyptians, Persians and Chinese, Aztecs and Incas of South America, and Native North Americans, Turquoise was sacred in its adornment and for power, luck, and protection.

Turquoise beads dating back to 5000 B.C. have been found in Iraq, and the Egyptians were mining the stones in the Sinai in 3200 B.C. The death mask of Tutankhamun was studded with Turquoise, as were the mosaic masks dedicated to the gods, the fabulous inlaid skulls, shields and power statues of Moctezuma, the last ruler of the Aztecs.

For nearly a thousand years, Native Americans have mined and fashioned Turquoise, using it to guard their burial sites. Their gems have been found from Argentina to New Mexico. Indian priests wore it in ceremonies when calling upon the great spirit of the sky. Many honored Turquoise as the universal stone, believing their minds would become one with the universe when wearing it. Because of its ability to change colors, it was used in prophesy or divining.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and take a look at this auction. I greatly appreciate it. Please ask any questions you may have.

Have Fun, Good Luck, and Happy Bidding!

Is she a December Baby? I know that Jewelers would like us December babies to believe that it is Blue Topaz because that "costs" more than their Blue Topaz however now that we have almost completely mined out Turquoise then it is become more expensive than Turquoise. Thank you so much taking the time to stop by and read the description. (it always makes me happy to know people are reading them because I spend a great deal of time on them.) Thank you so much and Have a Happy Independence Day! ~Namaste

She is just barely, December 31st.
Blue Topaz is ok, but I love turquoise.
I'm a July baby and I much prefer moonstone over rubies, or mix them for a nice effect. I think all the traditional gemstones are getting fazed out for the more translucent "glass" looking gems. And now that they have the colored diamonds, who knows what will come down the road!
Yes, I do read descriptions. What people list and how they list it really tells a lot about who they are. I don't do facebook and such, so Listia is my social outlet. Just a little glimpse at each person who lists. I think it is pretty awesome. :-)
Have a wonderful 4th!

OOOh I LOVE Moonstone. Prior to getting sick I owned a Multi-Faith Metaphysical Shop so all my things for the most part come from what I had the day we shut the doors. Now my hubby is letting me go through one box at a time. (To keep me from over doing it) I have been listing most of what I am unpacking on here. I have been starting to cast a few new pieces on my own but we do it circa the 1800's because my hubby and I found a book about it and said hey we can build a brick oven and then this and then that and so we started to do it and even with no store I still love to do it but sadly the Cancer has left me with no ability to control my body temp so right now I am going to have to stick to Spring and Fall when it is cool but hot because it is very hot work. I also use Listia as my social outlet. I have made some incredible friends on here and met some Courageous and Inspirational people. I think Listia in many ways has helped me keep my sanity. lol Happy Independence Day to you as well. Oh and I love your Babushkas (sorry if I spelled that wrong) they rock and I love anyone who has skills like that. One of my great grandmothers taught me to crochet but sadly blankets is about all I can make. =)

*giggles* Blankets are actually harder because of the time of commitment involved.
I made a shaw using the same stitch as the babushkas and I had to take breaks for weeks at a time because of burn-out. Little projects keep me satisfied that I have accomplished something.
I wish I could have seen your brick-and-mortar shop. That is a distant dream for me. I work so slow... :-)
Busy on dreamcatcher for family this weekend just to change crafty pace.
I feel blessed to have met you here in our little social space. It really does help with the sanity some days.

I am honored to meet you as well. Blankets were fine with me because they always gave me something to do with my hands. I did love my brick and mortar shop and the ability that when my son was very small I took him to work with me. We had been open a year when he was born. I stayed home for three weeks after his birth and then I went back with him then. I miss the community and the conversation but i don't miss the stress. It has been an honor to meet you as well here in our little Listia community. If you ever need a shot of sanity just give me a yell. It is usually just me and my son...my hubby works from home half the time and then is off training military half the time. (He is retired after 22 years and the cosmic joke is I told him we couldn't have a baby until he got out. He got out we had a baby and the only job he could find was as a contractor working for the military. So technically he was out of the military briefly while our son was born. lol Okay I am rambling now. But the brick and mortar was so much fun and I got to learn so much bringing in teachers to teach classes. We even had a belly dance class on Saturday morning and drum circles on Saturday nights. It was so much fun but every once in a while you realize what was fun is becoming work so everything happens for a reason and I had my time and now it is time for something different. I did travel a circuit for a while before the brick and mortar and I might go back to that. I liked traveling a lot and only working the weekends. Okay better stop now. Thank you so kindly ..until we meet again. ~Namaste
