Excuse my ignorance but I'm looking for an adapter that will provide wireless internet. Is this product what I'm looking for?

This item allows you to connect to a wireless connection. It does not create one. What I think you are refering to is aeither a wireless router (which connects to your modem and broadcasts a wireless signal) or a wifi card which wireless providers offer (such as Verizon). If you had a wireless router, this item would allow a non-wireless capable PC or Laptop to conect to that wireless network. I hope this helped you. God bless.
