Description

The listing, ~~Lavender~~ Seeds (15) has ended.

Lavender fills the early-summer garden with sensory delights: beautiful purple-tone blooms atop foliage that oozes fragrance on a sunny afternoon. Every part of the plant is infused with aromatic oil, making this a choice herb to place along pathways or near outdoor seating areas so you can savor the fragrance. Lavender varieties abound: The darker the flower, the more intense the aroma -- and the flavor in cooking. I accept PayPal or send two LOOSE U.S. postage "FOREVER" stamps inside a self-addressed envelope -- Don't affix stamps to anything.

Thanks :) I love flowers!! And since the doctor made me stop working, I have learned so much about flowers. I have more time to play with them now! I live on 23 acres and there is something growing everywhere! On my good days I like to cut and make arrangement's so I can enjoy them indoors and on my bad days I can look out the window and admire some of them. I can't wait until my lily's bloom!! I just had an amaryllis bloom for the first time after being planted outside for 5 years. I could not even remember what it looked like, it had been so long! Now I am waiting to collect seeds from the other plants that have come and now are gone. I am like some kind of freak always looking for a seed pod home and away! lol If it grows, I am going to plant it. Just planted a piece of red Jade today that a friend had fall of her plant. Kids, dogs and plants are my whole life!

How lucky you are to have so much land!! We have about a third of an acre but since we bought this house 9 years ago, we have put in flower beds and shrubs everywhere we can! I, too, have collected some seeds and shared them with my sister: money plants and various colors of columbines. It seems a shame not to spread the happiness! I hope I get some nice day lilies this year. Last year I planted several new ones and a rabbit nipped one off just as it was about to bloom!

That really stinks about the rabbit. I have to worry about the neighbors dog and the propane company. The Propane company killed my Gardenia bush that I have had before my son was born and he is 8. It had gotten about 4.5 feet tall and was beautiful. By luck when I made a flower arrangement I put a piece of the bush in it (before it was killed) and it rooted so I planted it in a pot indoors. I did not know if it would live but it did. It's only 3 inches tall but, it's a start. It will be years before it blooms and I love the smell of Gardenia. I was so mad, he also killed my biggest Rosemary bush which was 4 ft. tall. Unlike the Gardenia I had more Rosemary, not as big but almost. I had a guest over the Christmas holidays and he (teen) walked all through my Echinacea bed and killed some of my plants! If you want to fight...mess with my flowers!!! I just had one of my day lilies bloom yesterday so the rest are not far behind and the Orange Asiatic lily is in bloom. They are so beautiful. Can't wait for my Star Gazers, they smell so good! I love scented flowers. The Bee Balms are budding and can't wait for them. I love the Magenta most but, they are so hard for me to harvest the seeds from. Seems like they would all be the same but, they are the hardest. Can't wait to gather seeds, just gathered some Globe flower yesterday!

You are really a lot further ahead in your growing season than we are in Massachusetts. My bee balm is nowhere near blooming, but my coneflowers have buds. My two colors of penstemon and my blue perennial salvia are out, as well as several colors of columbine. My Jacob's ladders have come and gone, as have most of my bearded iris. Those came from my mom's garden in Maine via a friend of mine here in Mass. My mother had given her some of her irises years ago, and now that I have a house (and my mom is gone, so I couldn't get any from my childhood home in Maine), my friend gave me some of hers. So now I have some of my mom's irises after all! Yes, don't you hate it when workers disturb your flowers?!? The gas company did that to some of ours a couple years ago when they had to install a new meter. We just had a new fence installed on one side of our yard and I was in fear for my plantings over there, but the workers were very careful and it looks like they didn't disturb a thing! (I had my husband stay home from work and go out periodically to "supervise"- or at least watch. It is harder for me to do that. Three years ago I had my right leg amputated due to cancer. I use a wheelchair in the house and crutches outside, but walking on an irregular lawn surface is not easy. I'm bummed that I can't help with as many of the garden chores as I used to be able to do; I used to love weeding and deadheading and just being among the flowers, but now my husband does most of it and I help where I can reach when sitting in a chair near the gardens. I still pick my own rhubarb because somehow my husband can't get the hang of picking the stalks without breaking them! lol

I understand the disappointment when you can't do the things you want to. With my MS, I can't go outside and work on hot days so I have to wait until the evening but, by then the mosquito's are awful. I have also had a lot of problems with ticks. I am the only one in my home that has this problem. I have had at least 50 already this year. I think part of it is that our grounds are very unleveled and I have to walk very slowly as to not fall. Sometimes I spend more time on the ground than upright. My Columbine, Azaleas' Daffodils' and Iris' have all come and gone. Hollyhock, Butterfly Weed and Milk Weed are also starting to bloom. At least there is something blooming after the other has stopped.

Hello Neighbor! It's cool to find someone on the shore! I did see someone from Parksley but, I did not catch the name. Listia has been a lifesaver for me! Good luck bidding :)
