Description

The listing, DEREK JETER - 1998 ULTRA NOTABLES #N20 - GRADED PGA 10 GEM-MINT - NEW YORK YANKEES - $600? has ended.

You are bidding on the card in title description !!

a very, very, very nice example of a 1998 ultra notables derek jeter #n20 graded pga gem-mint 10

there is an example graded on ebay of a psa 10 selling for $600 or best offer

http://www.ebay.com/itm/derek-jeter-1998-fleer-ultra-notables-refractor-foil-20-psa-10-rare-pop-3-/380910313130?pt=us_baseball&hash=item58b0061eaa

i stand by pga 100%, so much that if you are not happy with the quality of their grading , i will refund your credits upon return of the item in it's original condition, but i have sold many of these on here and ebay. and there is not one bad review. number1fiskfan on ebay !!

...........if returned shipping cost is on you, since i am already offering free shipping, i have already paid once.

all listia rules apply and i will not ship this to a unverified address so please get verified before bidding.

not accepting address through messages or e-mail !!!! verified only. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

of course free shipping and and a starting bid of 1, i like to live dangerous !!! lol !!

and my gin prices are more than fair, a single graded card is shipped with confirmation in a bubble mailer. the cost of that alone is $1.93 just for the postage not counting supplies. !!!!

For anyone disputing, a card is worth what a buyer wants to pay. That's exactly what they are worth. Book value and "going price" sometimes can be thrown to the side, because it can be way less or way more depending on the buyer, the seller, and the terms to which they agree.
This is a cool card, it's been well advertised, and it's worth as many virtual credits as someone wants to give for it.
John, you and I both know that when you want it, you'll fight tooth and nail with someone for a couple of 10 cent commons that you need for a set and bid it up to a couple of thousand credits; I think you and I have bid-off against each other on a few, lol!
That's what I like about this site. Sure, I spend some postage to play, but at the end of the day, there's no money changing hands. If this card is worth $20. $40, $180, $600 ... it doesn't matter. How much a buyer wants it is what matters, and it's all virtual credits, so there's no reason for anyone to bicker the "value". You're nicer than I am. I have blocked people who I notice constantly bickering values. I find it annoying.
There's no money here, folks, so cash value is kind of out the window. Bid it up, you'll be lucky to find another of this card in great graded condition on this particular site.

I think the main issue being ignored is the wording "selling for 180 obo" whereas the appropriate phrasing is 'asking 180 obo.' When someone refers to an item as selling for, the implication is that currently people are paying x amount for that given item, as in paid x amount recently, or 'the going rate.' I.e. silver is selling for $19 an ounce. Yes, perhaps it's semantics, but I wanted to throw in my 2 cents. Furthermore, I believe you are a stand up guy in the Listia card community. I am still baffled by premiums people shell out on here for a plastic case and a subjective number on a 10 scale

It's bad for the hobby, but good if you know what youre doing as it can be quite lucrative. Coin collectors will attest to its negative affects. The card grading boom peaked in the late 90s as factory sets were getting pillaged, key cards submitted on a grand scale and insane prices were being paid. I think for authentication purposes, grading it good. There will always be the majority that despise grading because of the subjectivity and especially the grading of new cards that should naturally be mint and gem mint already. Vintage grading makes sense to establish condition and authenticity

I completely agree with you. I have a PSA registry for Carlton Fisk, that is it. Same with BGS. at the same time my raw set is still my favorite !! Grading, especially the Big companies like BGS and PSA cattier to big spenders and large dealers driving up prices or lets say setting the pricing scale. As you said the big boom hit and I started my Fisk set back in the day and well over spent for 10's or trying to get them graded myself. In the end I guess will can not really tell but it seems to be a fad that is here to stay as long as people keep shooting for that GEM or Prestine in cards anyways. I do not know much about coins.
