Nothing happened to it. It has a gripper on it since apparently these new controllers lose their grip really fast.

lol sorry had to comment... The PS4 controller are nice and the only way they would "lose" their grips is if your digging your nails into them. Now the xbox one controllers they are made very cheaply and if you look at them the gaps on the sides are way off from each other. Its kinda sad PS4 controllers has new and exciting features like the touch panel and the xbox one repositioned the battery.
I love my PS4 and im about to sell my Xbox one(its big and bulky, load times suck, ect ect...)

for one no reason to be rude..... and I have had my PS4 and 3 controllers since day one and not one of mine are messed up AT ALL and i have 13 physical titles and 5 digital titles SO PLENTY OF PLAY TIME ON THEM(controllers)

Yah a very small number of people because Sony made you send them back with your own money to have them replaced even though everyone's ps4s should be covered by warranty still just Google what were talking about and look for yourself

warranties never cover user negligence, and shipping cost of a controller if you can afford a PS4 you should be able to cover a measly few dollars or option B buy grip covers $8 for two sets at gamestop
