The Gemini 12 Patch is 3 inches in diameter. It is black and Silver with orange lettering.
Gemini 12 was a 1966 manned spaceflight in NASA's Project Gemini.
The patch's unique orange and black colors are a link to the flight's original scheduled date close to Halloween. The Roman numeral XII is located at the 12 o'clock position on the face of a clock, with the Gemini spacecraft pointing to it like the hour hand of a clock. This represents the position of Gemini 12 as the last flight of the Gemini program.
The Apollo 8 Patch is 3 inches high by 3 3/8 inches wide.
Apollo 8, the second human spaceflight mission in the United States Apollo space program, was launched on December 21, 1968, and became the first manned spacecraft to leave Earth orbit, reach the Earth's Moon, orbit it and return safely to Earth. The three-astronaut crew Commander Frank Borman, Command Module Pilot James Lovell, and Lunar Module Pilot William Anders became the first humans to travel beyond low Earth orbit, the first to see Earth as a whole planet, the first to directly see the far side of the Moon, and then the first to witness Earthrise.
The triangular shape of the insignia symbolizes the shape of the Apollo Command Module . It shows a red figure-8 looping around the Earth and Moon representing the mission number as well as the circumlunar nature of the mission. On the red number 8 are the names of the three astronauts.
The Post card is an awesome photo of the Earth Orbiter Discovery poised for launch and is an actual NASA Photo. The card is unused and is in Mint condition.
