There is a movie based on this book that you may have seen- it was weird, but surprisingly good. The book, is EXCELLENT. I couldn't put it down. Much better than the movie, as it explains some of the weird sensual things that are difficult to convey in film. VERY good book. This paperback is a translation of the original German, first published in 1986. This is a 2001 edition. The cover is creased, pages are a little yellow.
