Description
The listing, Beautiful Ring with Variety of Real Jewels, Set in Silver/Platinum overlay has ended.
This is a lovely cocktail ring set with garnets, peridots, pink topaz, citrine, amethyst, and aquamarine. The center is made up of tiny garnets, just like a flower. I would keep it, but as you see in the first pic, my rheumatoid arthritis has swollen my hands to where I cannot wear it any longer. I never wore it without getting compliments on it, and I know you will too!
That's what it is!!!! I thought it looked exactly like a sunflower, even though the woman I bought it from said she thought it looked like a multicolored daisy. The tiny stones in the center are little garnets, and I think they look like little seeds. I loved it from the minute I saw it, and if my hands weren't so arthritic I'd be keeping it. But you can see, it is on my ring finger (my pinky nail is painted silver and the others are light purple), and I just can't wear it at all without my finger turning blue from lack of circulation, lol. I Fanned you back! Thank you and good luck!
It is a size 7 1/2, and the lady I purchased it from said it was silver with platinum overlay, but the marking is very small and honestly I can't read it even with my loop well enough to read. But the gemstones are real, I have many years experience and I also asked a friend who makes jewelry to look at the gems and she and I both agreed that the stones are genuine. I honestly can't imagine setting stones in anything other than silver or better. It has never faded or turned, even after many wearings.
I bought it from a dealer at a show, who told me it was sterling with platinum overlay, but I cannot read the marking, so I am not 100% sure. I do know enough about gemstones to guarantee that the gems are 100% real, and I checked with another friend who is also makes jewelry who agreed that the stones are real. But I do not have a magnet strong enough to test the silver and without being able to read the marking (there is one, just very small), I will not guarantee it is sterling. It is a size 7 1/2, and that's why it won't fit my swollen finger any longer. But it is lovely, and honestly I can't see putting real stones in anything other than silver.
OK, I got the best magnet I could from a buyer of gold and silver, and they said the metal was silver. I am happy to say that I feel better about this, because while I KNEW all the stones were genuine, sometimes it is difficult to tell if the metal is real or not. I feel more comfortable listing this as silver with a platinum overlay (which keeps it from tarnishing), and all the gorgeous stones that make up the petals! Enjoy!
