The listing, 76 Union Gas Tax Token Vintage Blue Plastic has ended.

This is the size of a poker chip and it is made of plastic
I don't know anything about it or what it was used for
Found it in an old purse
On one side it says "76 Union"
On the other side it says "your gas tax is over 35%, on 1 gallon 7 1/2 cents, on 10 gallons 75 cents
It is in excellent condition.

Questions & Comments

35% tax equal to $.075/gallon means gas was selling for 21-22 cents a gallon. That really is vintage!

Thanks--I wondered how to figure it out. I can't remember when gas was so cheap, can you? And, I really don't remember when they gave out these tokens or even what they were for. This one looks almost brand new.
