Yes it'll work. I'm not sure for how long though since my dog Ripley (my pic- shepherd/lab mix) loves to pull apart toys :( I got another squeaker bone made of vinyl material off here (that was 7 inches) Ripley had it torn apart in 30 seconds! Ripley loves causing trouble, he's also an escape artist :) He knows how to open gates and opens his wire crate door ( like a person would!) LOL :)
