logicool is the same as logitech, they just use that name in japan as there already was a company called logitech in japan before they entered the market there

I may be missing something, but how exactly does this one work, I myself have a wireless mouse (Microsoft) and it just has a tiny usb adapter that plugs into a USB port, now on this I see usb adapter but I also see a long cord with a usb slot what is that cord for, I would like to get this for my brother possibly, but I'm just confused. and want to make sure he doesn't need something he doesn't have

Not to worry, this just uses the usb adapter you see in pic- the lond usb cord is something im adding for the folks that will use this from across the room with tv!
you do not need it- its just a added bonus-
