I know this is probably a silly question, but is it an actual fire pit? How big is it? Is it run by a little propane tank?

Not a silly question at all. :) It's a Do It Yourselfer...you make it. This listing is for the instructions. :) So size will depend on you~how small or large you want to make it. But it simply uses those cans of cooking fuel gel. :)
