Depends on how tall you are? I'm 5"1 and its probably 3-4 inches above my knees. If I wore heels then yeah it can function as a tunic. Good idea, never even thought about that. Lol.

Lol..I have a couple of these types of dresses in my closet..but I usually just wear them as tunics with like a pair of capris or shorts..its real cute:) I am 5'6 so this would probably hit to about mid thigh..I would guess?

Yep, that's about right. Wear it with wedges, would look fab. It really is a beautiful dress,I fell in love with it when I first saw it. Hence the impulse buy lol.

Is the fabric stretchy or does it have a zipper closure?

It has no zipper, theres enough room to wiggle in, because of the ties on the shoulder(you can untie it ,not fixed like other one shoulder. Its not dresses)strechy like lycra or anything.Hope this helps. I can provide measurements if needed.
